Abstract: Congenital lobar emphysema (CLE) is a rare lung malformation which can cause respiratory distress in infants and children. The diagnosis is made when there is hyperinflation of one or more of the lungs lobes which can be seen on chest x-ray and computed tomography (CT). This case report features a term male infant who at two weeks of life continued to have tachypnea and still required respiratory support secondary to congenital lobar emphysema.
